Years with Jones Studio
46
Born in Texas and raised in Oklahoma, Eddie moved to the desert shortly after graduating from Oklahoma State University and began his studio in his spare bedroom in 1979. As founder and principal, Eddie has led Jones Studio for more than 45 years with a persistent optimism fueled by his enduring spirit for architectural exploration and a sincere commitment to innovative design.
Eddie holds the rare ability to create responsive architecture, timeless in design yet bound distinctively to its place. His sense for space, materials, and detail—inspired by nature and those who came before—is the foundation of all our work. Alongside principals Brian Farling and Jacob Benyi, Eddie works closely with clients to craft a shared vision and lead all aspects of design from concept through construction.
Having lectured widely across North America, Europe, and Asia, he continues to contribute through civic and academic committees centered on design excellence, education, community impact, and sustainability. His most recent publication, Jones Studio Houses, Sensual Modernism, showcases the studio’s private residential projects. The more recent book, Strive, Jones Studio Adventures in Architecture, documents a comprehensive look at the studio’s history, development and aspirations.

PROJECT EXPERIENCE

“I imagine if I didn’t own Jones Studio, I would really hope they would hire me. It is a wonderful, close-knit family of exceptional people. Am I lucky or what?”
UPDATE: “I don’t own it anymore… and they hired me!”
