We believe that bettering our world begins with leadership

The more we engage with the world around us, the better architects and citizens we become. At times this includes promoting the advancement of our profession, such as our studio’s long history of teaching and lecturing at architecture schools around the country. Other times, we’re planting the seeds for the world we wish to see by volunteering our expertise to local agencies and organizations. Ultimately, we encourage everyone at Jones Studio to seek ways to connect with and contribute to our communities.

Neal and Eddie Jones

The first brothers to ever receive the AIA’s highest membership honor in the same year, Eddie was elevated based on his work “to promote the aesthetic, scientific, and practical efficiency of the profession” and Neal was elevated based on his work “to advance the science and art of planning and building by advancing the standards of practice.”

Through interviews with Phoenix-area professionals, this podcast explores the layers of architecture as a profession and passion.

Maria Salenger teaching

In my role as Director, I went to Jones Studio to teach in our school because I knew I wanted the best Arizona architects to be involved in our program. They have been unbelievably generous in the cause of architectural education and support of the profession.

Rob Miller, Director & Professor, School of Architecture, CAPLA UA

Our upcoming events

At Jones Studio, we seek ways to engage with new people and new ideas. We regularly host professional events, lectures, and meetings with our community partners at our office in Tempe. When we’re not in the studio, you can find us traveling the world and lecturing to students, presenting our work, or making new connections. See the calendar below for some of our upcoming events, how to attend virtually or in person, or reach out to us for more information.

Ever wonder what it's like to be an architect? Want to visit an award-winning architecture firm and design your own project? For the 14th year, Inspiring Aspiring Architects is a free career-readiness workshop offered to students ages 13 - 18 interested in architecture and design professions. Students meet local designers and architects and learn about what they do, the educational paths to becoming an architect, and the design process. Working at Jones Studio’s office in Tempe, participants draw and build their own models under the guidance of design mentors. Students present their work to parents at the end of the workshop. This program is offered by Scottsdale Arts Learning & Innovation. Free with RSVP. Space is limited; lunch is provided. For questions, contact Brittany Arnold at BrittanyA@ScottsdaleArts.org or 480-874-4630.
