1992 | New River, AZ | Public Park Facility | $1 million
Rusted and remote, these desert pavilions provide a southern gateway to 60 miles of unique natural and historic trails. The Black Canyon Trail was once the heart line of services in and through the area between Phoenix and Prescott. Jones Studio looked to encapsulate this rough, necessary essence. The project’s inherent self reliance is dependent on the passive energy principals of cooling, day lighting and natural composting.
