1985 | Paradise Valley, AZ | Private Residence

The residence hunkers low in the hot desert climate, cooled by the native landscaping and the shadow side of large rock outcroppings. The butterfly roof radius mimics the curve of surrounding granite boulders while providing a spectacular rain water harvesting system. The house backs into Camelback Mountain, announcing its presence while ensuring the preservation of nature and direction of mountain rain water runoff.
