Mexico! Simple contrasts, undulating dunes, level sea. The blue daytime horizon waits for another brilliantly colored sunset. Fuzzy saltbush against the straight edge parapet rhymes with the ragged steel rebar sculpture, honoring the local nest building traditions of the coastal Ospre bird. The weightless sand blows easily against the heavy walls. Thick arches make a deep, protective shadow, defending against the searing white Mexican sunlight. The fascinating Sea of Cortez never stops moving, the beach is never the same. One is acutely aware of the consistency of change. The architecture tries desperately to remain static… and happily fails.
