Last weekend Jones Studio President and expert anecdotalist Neal Jones returned to Oklahoma City to lend support to Oklahoma Modernism weekend, a collaboration between OkieModSquad and the Oklahoma City Foundation for Architecture. Events from Friday through Sunday included everything from a vintage car show, to panel discussions and lectures, to home tours, including a special viewing of Herb Greene’s Prairie House.

The Sunday weekend finale was a tour of Jones Studio’s Prairie Raptor, with Neal on hand to guide the tour and answer questions about the project that began as an homage to Herb’s humble “Prairie Chicken,” and developed into a deeply contextual design that won an AIA Arizona Merit Award in 2017. Sixty avid architecture fans spent almost two hours viewing the house and its 40-acre property.

If you are in the OKC area, be sure to check out upcoming events organized by the Foundation. Also check out our posts on more Jones Studio projects.
