This Thursday Jones Studio President and shrewd tie coordinator, Neal Jones, guest lectured at UNLV’s School of Architecture “Design Management” class, taught by professor Eric Strain. The title of the lecture was “Architecture is a business. It cannot be ignored.” In two and a half hours the class covered topics including what it takes to own your own firm, the design professional’s services, contracts, developing fee budgets, and the importance of CA in the profession. It was a lively and interactive discussion with great questions and interest by the students. Then Professor Strain and Neal went to Circus Circus to eat steak at the legendary “the steakhouse,” a wonderful end to a glorious day.
Neal’s visit to UNLV is a part of his regular contributions to developing young professionals and Jones Studio’s commitment to shaping the future of the profession. Check out other ways Jones Studio is giving back to the next generation of architects.
